The first thing that you will need to consider before installing your graphics is whether the plastic is new or used. A heat gun will activate the adhesive which will allow it to lift up much easier. Do not forget to remove all of the residual sticker goop with rubbing alcohol or a contact cleaner. After you have removed the goop, clean the area with soap and water and allow it to dry completely.

Installing a graphic on new plastic simply requires a thorough cleaning with a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol. This will clean off any of the remaining manufacturing oil residue. Start your installation by aligning the graphic with whatever piece of plastic you are putting it upon. Carefully pull away a back corner and slowly place it on the plastic. Continue to remove the backing paper while at the same time applying the graphic to the plastic.

Use your thumb or a plastic type edging tool to eliminate all air bubbles. Remember to do all of this installation work in a slow and steady manner. You may not end up winning the race but you may end up having the best looking dirt bike in the race.
